“My memory is certainly in my hands. I can remember things only if I have a pencil and I write with it and I can play with it. I think your hand concentrates for you. I don’t know why it should be so.” —–Dame Rebecca West

Feeling Weary
Yep. Everyone is still sick here. Well, almost everyone. Joshua and Jacob seem to have made a full recovery and they are fine…back to their normal activities of life. The rest of us are coughing and feeling pretty horrible. It started with some of the littles a few weeks ago. Paul ended up sick (and still had to work!), then…

“China tea, the scent of hyacinths, wood fires and bowls of violets– that is my mental picture of an agreeable February afternoon.” —–Constance Spry
Organizing Socks and Smaller Clothing Items
While the larger parts of our home have been receiving the most attention, I’ve also been spending some moments here and there on some smaller areas! This was my sock drawer last week: I’m not sure I even wore half of these socks, and one of the fun parts of big family life has been always having to look for…
House Update (Yesterday)
These were taken in the middle of the day: They had finished hanging the drywall on the ceiling!!! By the end of day, some of our walls are up and mudding has started…. Drywall makes such a HUGE difference. I just can’t believe how different it looks.
Young Living Essential Oils
We have officially had the flu in our home for a couple of weeks. Joshua was first, then Jacob, then Paul, then Jackson, now it’s Ben and Meredith. There are times when a virus comes and will hit everyone at once. This isn’t one of those times…it’s taking it’s sweet time. As it turns out, the week before Joshua got…
It’s Snowing!!
I went to pick the phone up and call my mom this morning to tell her how excited the children were. I hate when I do that…but, I know what she is seeing is far more wonderful than snow. For now, and for me, this is just beautiful and peaceful. I’m thinking chicken tortilla soup is in our future today.…
From Facebook Yesterday….
I’m re-posting both my status and Joshua’s- First, mine: “Paul and I have always STRONGLY encouraged our children to run for local offices. After much prayer and consideration Joshua, is officially announcing his campaign within our county. (Courtney Lambert, will also be up for re-election this year!). Please consider supporting him in the coming months with your prayers and by…
A Quick Tip…
We’ve been preparing for our new little one. We bought him an outfit for coming home, and a new blanket. He has some new sleepers. I’m making most everything else. Several of his items were tied in sweet ribbons. I don’t normally spend a lot of time on packaging, but this time I decided to save them.
Sunday Afternoon
I’m hearing colder, nasty weather is headed our way this week. If for only a milder, January afternoon, we threw open the windows and enjoyed the fresh air floating through the house. It didn’t last long, we started getting too cold. For those hours, it was glorious! Psalm 100 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the…
Updates on House
I’m so glad this work isn’t dependent on me these days! I can feel this third trimester this week. Our little one is stretching and kicking- I look forward to warm baths and putting my feet up! While I am working on smaller projects, I’m so thankful for the work being done in the house. These are pictures from yesterday:…
