Migraines

Tracy / September 26, 2006

I‘m up and awake this morning. Barely. I picked my head up off my pillow this morning with one of the worst headaches that I have had in a while.

I get headaches known as sinus related migraines. Imagine with me if you will, all the pain, pressure and misery of a sinus headache rolled into the blurred vision, sometimes difficulty thinking, sick to your stomach, light sensitivity, makes you want to go to bed for life, and you would if you weren’t so sick to your stomach, disaster known as a migraine.

UGH.

What a way to greet the day.

Double UGH.

With my “press-on” attitude…that for the life of me I would like to hang up by a peg beside the door for the day….here is the rest of today’s blog:

Progress on Matthew’s scrapbook (the previous days are archived in the preserving memories section of the site) is coming along.

Yes, I’m finally getting back to it. This, by the way, is why I scrapbook like this…life has a way of moving in and I don’t often get the chance to just sit and scrapbook. Just the same, I do want my children to have them….I would love to record every minute of their lives if I had the time.

Anyway, I’m beginning the process of cutting and adhering mats on all the pictures through the album.

These are a couple of pictures that already have their white mat. I always double mat my photos, first, a white mat and then one to coordinate with the page that I’m making.

This is a closer picture of the mat being cut. I try to line mine up with the edge of the Fiskars cutter.

I also earlier promised some pictures of our Raingutter Regatta night…here are our boats and my guys (well, some of my guys) getting ready for the Regatta:

Paul, Joshua, Jacob (who decided to actually smile for the picture) and Matthew.

Matthew and his boat…he was so proud!

This is Joshua’s boat. He is too old to race against the cubs but we always have a category for other family members or boy scouts who would like to build and race.
He took a lot of time adding a lot of little details to his boat.

Prayer Requests

Please pray for Tanya, she called last night and spoke with Paul to tell him that they were taking her Grandmother to the hospital. I’m not sure any of the other details but I’ll update as soon as I can.

*One quick note…Courtney spoke with Tanya this morning. Tanya’s Grandmother had some serious swelling in her feet and ankles. She has been admitted to the hospital. I’ll let you all know when I know more.

The Greenlaw family has had some on-going issues with their neighbors. Please pray for them that these problems can and will be resolved.

Pray for Fay, one of our Lines From The Vine yahoo moms who is going in for an induction this afternoon. She is expecting that her baby will be born some time tomorrow.

Please pray for Paul …one more day to a meeting that he has with attorneys concerning one of our other businesses. We’re pretty excited to see yet another step behind us.

We were also called about a housing opportunity in the area. Now, it would take a miracle, but God is in the business of those, isn’t He? We’ll see if this is His will for us…all I can say is it would really be nice.

For me. My head is hurting. I’m sorry to keep whining, but my head hurts. Please pray for me.

Today I’m Thankful For

My head. Yes, I’m thankful for my head. I’m glad that I have one….it could always be worse.

I’m thankful for the hair on my head. Though it feels like a lead weight right now, I’m glad to have it. I know that there are many who don’t.

I’m thankful for my children. They are noisy and loud today…but I am so thankful for them.

I’m thankful for my rice socks…ahhhh.…there is one waiting in the freezer for me right now. (I promise that I WILL get to post the directions to these this week!)

Pharmaceutical companies across America. Yes, I’m a huge advocate of natural ways…but there are those times when I am so grateful to have a Motrin.

Tracy’s Task

I don’t think so.

What I’m Learning

Do not try to change phone companies over the Internet. We had an interesting day yesterday….I woke up with a new phone number.

Apparently, when I switched back to BellSouth online, they didn’t follow the instructions to allow me to keep the old number. I do have to admit we actually liked the new phone number better, but we have an attachment to this one…we’ve had it now for 11 years.

In any case, at the beginning of the process online, I asked the online technical support person if I could switch service online and they said YES. When I spoke to a person there on the phone yesterday, they said that they aren’t set up to allow people to make that kind of switch online…it’s only for brand new phone service. Oh well. We’re back to the same old number now. Everyone is happy.

Today’s Scripture Meditation

Isa 58:8
“Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.”
(NIV)

Dear Lord, please break forth like the dawn and heal my head quickly,
