Looking for ideas…

Courtney has decided she would like to pursue some classes on nutrition…not nutrition as defined by the government but more whole foods cooking/classes. A friend mentioned Sue Gregg classes, which we’re checking on, they seem to be really good. I’m wondering if any of you ladies might have some other ideas?? Thank you!!

Winter has visited our home again! As we visited with our church family yesterday, ice literally began to fall from the sky! Before the end of the evening, everything, everywhere was pretty much covered in little ice pellets. Paul was on his way home from Maryland, on a business trip. It took him quite a bit longer to get home…

January 3, 2011 (Still catching up blog posts!)

Tracy / January 10, 2011

Life here continues on…. it seems that daily something new and exciting happens. I was talking with Paul last night about how surprised I’ve been this last year. For whatever reason, years ago, I pictured this season of my life being much slower. I had always thought that as the children grew, I would have more time for sewing, writing,…

Opossum in the Basement!

Tracy / January 10, 2011

Last week, Paul heard a huge crash in the basement. He and the older boys went down to find out what was happening and were met with this little guy having just eaten a little group of eggs and now going after a hen that was sitting on them. I guess we’ll call this their first “homestead defense” experience! Joshua,…

Don’t laugh….remember these are our first “Wilton method” cakes…. 😀 This is the poinsettia cake we made for our church fellowship in December. The flowers are completely edible! O.K., not a “Wilton” cake- this is another cake we made for our church fellowship. I’ve…

Recipe: Broccoli Cheese Soup

Tracy / January 10, 2011

As a treat, every once in awhile, the girls and I head out to Panera’s for a bowl of broccoli and cheese soup. I’ve tried several recipes, none of them were ever quite what we wanted. I have no idea where Courtney happened upon this recipe, but it’s one of the closer to Panera’s that I’ve tried. I hope you…

Jessica’s 13th Birthday

Tracy / January 7, 2011

It’s still hard to believe that Jessica has turned 13. For many years, I wasn’t sure this young lady would see her 13th birthday. If you are new to my site, Jessica was born with multiple, serious heart issues that eventually led to her having a multiple seizures each day and a heart surgery that can only be described as…
