Summer Nights and S’mores

The stars are shining bright on this summer evening in Alabama.

It’s actually relatively cool, with a slight breeze.

It seemed so perfect to build a little fire and gather the children.

I had gathered chocolate bars, graham crackers and marshmallows a couple of weeks back.

Kudos to Nabisco for making s’more size graham cracker packages! Nice!

It’s been sweet night full of memories and fun (well, there is that little thing….Paul is having to pick the marshmallows off the bottom of his shoes….occupational hazard when roasting them with littles).

Courtney, and her very first s’more…

Joshua, wondering how many more pictures I could possibly snap….

…one very sweet two year old who really loves s’mores…..

I think I could have stayed around that fire for hours…for now, I have the scent of our campfire in the air and happy children slowly making their way to bed for the evening.

It’s been a good day and I’m feeling blessed. The children are growing and beginning to find lives of their own. These are sweet moments. I’m savoring each and every one.
