It’s happened again. Valentine’s morning found us up to the realization that the same two dogs that killed our last flock of birds, had visited once again and killed all but two of our existing adult flock of chickens. We have one hen and one guinea left. Our dear friends and neighbors also lost five of their chickens, including their…

Recipe- Easy Peanut Butter Cookies

Tracy / February 14, 2011

Cookies with no flour? You bet!! These are perhaps the best peanut butter cookies we’ve ever tried. Without the flour, the peanut butter flavor really shines! 1 egg 1c peanut butter 1c sugar 1t vanilla Mix together and bake at 350^ for 8 minutes. They will NOT look like they are cooked until they cool for a few minutes. Yum!!

Cooking Class

Tracy / February 12, 2011

Timothy (8) has an interest in cooking. Not just any interest, but I think if it’s possible, he could be a budding “foodie”, even at his young age. He’s had this fascination since he was about 3…always right under me while I’m cooking…always asking questions. It’s not at all uncommon to walk into the family room on a morning when…

There is a day, that arrives at some point– you may not even notice at first, when you realize your children are grown. On this day, I have watched my oldest son, Joshua, put in a full day’s work in our yard. He has cleared years of under-brush left growing by the previous owners of our home. It’s been hard…

Sewing for Emma

Tracy / February 9, 2011

Pillowcase dresses are really sweet! Miss Emma, has decided this year to grow legs. Sewing for her is long overdue. Though we normally wear skirts or dresses, I thought this would be a cute play outfit for her: (Thank you, Courtney, for snapping some pics for me. :D)
