T-Shirt Dress

Today, we are planning on (hopefully!) finishing Jessica’s dresses. I’ve let Courtney do most of the sewing for all three of them. She is doing a great job and T-shirt dresses give her a good start on basic sewing skills with the reward of seeing something that she has done well enough her sister can actually wear it…something that it took a long time for me to personally accomplish!

These T-shirt dresses are so simple to make…we’ve started making more and more of my girl’s clothes because it is so difficult to buy anything that is modest and reasonably priced.

For the record, we did finally finish the bloomers and pantaloons but, I accidentally sewed in Jessica’s elastic into Emma’s bloomers. Don’t ask how I managed this, but somehow it happened. Today, I’ll be removing elastic. I’m really thrilled. : ) This is the project that just won’t stop.

We were also able to plant our Caladium bulbs yesterday. I love this plant! Here in Alabama, they last well into October and I always love the fall weather and the beautiful Caladium bulbs growing around the walkway. I usually grow the green variety but this year I chose the red and green….I can’t wait!

Prayer Requests:

A productive day for my hubby. As I mentioned earlier, he has two very important meetings today. Please pray that they both go well.

My little Emma has her first two teeth! We realized that they had popped through yesterday but she’s miserable with the upper teeth now.

Today, I’m Thankful For:

Some lingering cool days this week.

Finishing my knit-a-long project (I’ll try and post a picture of it this week!)

Finding Kirk’s All Natural soap at Publix. At just $.89, it’s really helping my daughter Courtney, with her dry skin.

My two little boys learning to make their own bed.

Things going so smoothly this week while my Mom is visiting.

and….
To Tanya, thanks for submitting answers to the survey that I posted a few days back. Hopefully, I’ll have this feature online soon!

What I’m Learning:

I really love to knit. I recently joined a mystery knit group and have really enjoyed the project that we have been working on.

Good Family Entertainment starts with one two year old riding on the back of one six year old…racing one four year old riding on the back of one eight year old. One word of caution: if the six year old is not all that coordinated you might want to warn him to be careful going around corners! I think that’s enough explanation for the day….let’s just say Timothy is a little sore this morning.

Today’s Scripture Meditation:

Ps 51:5-12
“Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me. Surely you desire truth in the inner parts; you teach me wisdom in the inmost place. Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice. Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.”
