I love these days.

I’ve had lots of help packing away our fall/Thanksgiving decorations.
The children carefully went through the house gathering pumpkins, and fall wreaths. We sorted them on my bed and placed them into boxes to await next year.
It’s always nice to have their help! It’s really nice to see the excitement growing as they realize it’s almost Christmas!!

I’ve spent quite a bit of time in recent weeks, considering how to make the holidays memorable (in a good way!), for my family.
I decided to plan something fun for each day from now until Christmas.
Tonight, ate chili-cheese nachos, watched a Christmas movie, and decorated sugar cookies (which were yummy).

I colored a little sugar in a bowl and allowed the littles to decorate their own cookie. It’s amazing how the simplest things can turn into lots of fun for little people!
Shhh…. don’t tell! I’m posting pics of the projects I’m working on for our children this Christmas.
We’ve started a few, but this is the one I’ve worked on most:

This is a pillow dollhouse for Meredith.

I sewed pockets into the back to store the little dolls I’ll be making.
I’ve included little trims and gathers, ruffles and buttons to add some dimension to the house.

I’m setting a goal for Nov. 5 to finish this project.
I’ll share a few more of our gifts-in-progress a little later this week.
What projects are you working on for your friends and family?
I would love to hear.
A few pics from Christmas as we work to update the blog….

Hope you had a wonderful holiday…..
With love,

We are planning early for the holidays! Paul and I want to have all of our holiday purchases done by the end of October (a goal we’ve not reached for a few years now, but we’re trying again, LOL!)
I thought it would be nice to host a Friday Christmas Club on the site…please feel free to join along. You can leave a message in the comments to share what you’ve been working on, and maybe, if we have enough, I’ll post a linky to share your ideas too!
*Just a reminder, some places still have school supplies on sale. It’s a great time to stock up on notebooks, crayons, colored pencils, markers and glue to store for gifts. Little ones love to draw and color…we always fill stockings with new art supplies.

This week’s Christmas Club posting is not so much an idea, but a question.
We found these in one of the rooms downstairs:

I’ve seen them painted, and I have considered adding a photo to each one, but I would love to hear your creative ideas for these balls….

What do you think?
