Christmas Traditions- The Gingerbread House

Tracy / December 30, 2013

We’ve made a couple of gingerbread houses over the years.

I’ll admit, this is not my “thing”. I’m guessing I’ll learn.

In any case, Courtney and Jessa built the house. I thought this would be easy. Courtney assembled the walls and then Jessa came back to add the roof. We walked away to let it dry and returned to find it collapsed.

After trying again (and again), we decided to brace it with coffee mugs- which did work. In my head, I think I should be able to make a gingerbread house and it stand without support. I will trying this again! I will not be beaten by a gingerbread house.

Ridiculous.

I did have a bit of help decorating the house….

Not our best work, but when candy and cookies are involved, the children don’t care. 🙂
