Earrings, Day 1

Today, I wanted to post the directions for making a simple pair of earrings at home.

We’ll take one lesson a day.

All of these supplies can be found at Walmart…but Hobby Lobby
usually offers great sales on their jewelry making supplies.

To make earrings you need the following:

# 1 ear wires
# 2 pair of needle nose pliers (mine have wire cutters built into them) and 1 jewelry tool (this looks like pliers but have a more rounded shape to the end)
# 3 head pins (Mine have a bead actually built into the end of them…this is nice because it keeps a bead that has a larger hole from slipping off the end of the head pin.)
# 4 beads

Tomorrow, we’ll take the first step toward creating a custom made set of earrings!

This morning we have been busy with the usual things. My highlight was listening to baby Emma singing. She’s reached that age where she *loves* to hear herself…..we love to hear her too! : )

Prayer Requests Today:

My Sister-In-Law, Melissa, called last night. They are having some pretty serious car troubles and are going to have to have a new motor for their car. It was a pretty hard pill to swallow especially since they were going to trade it in this morning. Please pray for God’s provision for their family vehicle.

Our weather….it’s getting pretty stormy here today. Bad weather always makes me a little nervous.

Today, I’m thankful for:

My Mom having a good report from the Dr. that she visited last week.

The sweet note from Jamie Roberts, ;). Thank you for your “Contact Us” form submission.

As nervous as it makes me, I am thankful for the rain. I know that it is these spring rains that bring the beautiful flowers of the warmer months.

The great visit I had with my cousin, Joe, last evening.

My husband didn’t have any problems with the game that he worked on Saturday. I know that he was glad to be back home on Saturday night.

What I’m learning:

To always check my feet BEFORE leaving the house.

My Mom got me an awesome pair of house slippers for Christmas. I caught a glance at them this morning and realized that they were really nasty! This is because….they are so comfortable, I often forget that I’m wearing them and will leave the house. I’ll be in the grocery or at the library and look down to realize that I’m standing there in my house shoes!! YIKES!

Today’s Scripture Meditation:

Matthew 5:45 (I thought that this was appropriate for a VERY rainy day!)

“But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”
