This Week’s Sewing Project

Tracy / February 24, 2015

We realized during our recent flu outbreak we were short some rice socks.  All the girls and I worked together to restock our supply and make some for gifts! This is an old, old, old tutorial for making a simple rice sock.

Sewing Again

(Finally.) It always takes me a bit of time to start sewing again after a new baby arrives. Sometimes, necessity kicks in and I have no choice…that is life for me this week. This is my latest project: Bloomers and pantaloons for Darby. Pantaloons for Meredith. THIS is still my absolute favorite pattern. I’ve used it for years. This was…

Meredith’s Dress

Tracy / October 7, 2013

Courtney and I have been working to catch up on some of the projects we had started. This one had Meredith so excited, she was standing over us while we worked and was dressed for church before I ever left my bedroom this morning! This is Jackson’s blanket. Our embroidery machine is supposed to only stich a 4″ design. Courtney…

Darby’s Zoo Dress

Tracy / October 3, 2013

Last Saturday, Courtney and I decided to finish a few lingering projects. This one, is Darby’s zoo dress: It was made from a long-sleeve t-shirt and 2 yards of fabric. I added a ruffle and some ties to the back. The dress really turned out too long, but she’s getting taller so it’s a win/win! 😀

Last Weekend

Tracy / November 1, 2012

Mama came for a visit. She always has something exciting planned for the kiddos. This week, she had found a Barbie futon at her local thrift store. She worked with the little girls to make a custom cover. She had Emma cut out the pattern and tie little bows. She was so patient as they worked along her side. I…

Christmas Projects, 2011

Tracy / October 28, 2011

Shhh…. don’t tell! I’m posting pics of the projects I’m working on for our children this Christmas. We’ve started a few, but this is the one I’ve worked on most: This is a pillow dollhouse for Meredith. I sewed pockets into the back to store the little dolls I’ll be making. I’ve included little trims and gathers, ruffles and buttons…

Knee Socks to Tights

Tracy / October 27, 2011

The weather is turning cooler. We’ve been unpacking jackets and preparing for the winter. I realized last week we needed to buy stockings for our little girls. These cold days can be harsh on a little girl wearing dresses to church. I have seen several tutorials around the internet for making “baby legs”…basically, leg-warmers for littles. I thought this would…

Our Newest Sewing Projects….

Tracy / September 25, 2011

We’re always working on sewing/craft projects. Here are a couple we’ve finished lately: I painted this glow-in-the-dark shirt for Jon over the summer after finding inspiration in a children’s magazine. He has loved wearing it outside in the evenings, and I can spot him easily. 🙂 We’ve worked on several other projects, but this is the biggest. Courtney is making…

Sewing Projects…

I can’t remember if I posted pictures of Jon’s new outfits or not, and I don’t have time to look just now…. I made these out of 1/4yd of fabric and had just enough left to cut out a portion of the design from scraps and applique them on to a t-shirt. This was an EASY project but I wasn’t…

Baby Supplies…

I’m still re-posting articles from the old site. This morning, I ran across the tutorial for the matching blanket/burp cloth sets I’ve been making recently. These are an easy and inexpensive gift, but are great since they can not only be used for an expected baby, but will stand up well to wear– meaning they can also be used for…
