celebrating the 4th

Sweet summer memories….

Precious Jackson’s first slice of watermelon. We both were sticky- watching him eating watermelon would have been enough to make my whole day.

(41. babies trying out their world for the first time…everything so amazing, so new)

Be still, my heart.

Ribs, macaroni and cheese, baked beans……men in my kitchen.
Pure happiness.
(42. family….how I love all of them)
A sweet nephew sharing his latest computer project with his uncle…
A shining star in my world.  How thankful I am the Lord has written His name on her heart.
Matthew.  My young son, growing into a man….
The water balloon fight this year was bigger.  It was fantastic!  I think next year, I’m throwing a couple of balloons of my own! (Christy, if you would like to join me I’ll save a few for you, too.)

We stopped at only 500 balloons last year.  Of course, there were more than a few thrown early.

We added more this year….1,000 to be exact!

–and added some friends….

My littles were giggling all morning as they watched the balloons being filled.

(43. water balloons- reminding me of the summers of childhood)

You know, what takes hours to fill, only takes minutes to throw. It was the best water balloon fight yet.  (We’re already thinking towards our 4th annual water balloon fight.)

If you hadn’t already guessed, Courtney snapped many of these photos…they make my heart smile.

If I could just bottle a smile….

Beautiful, Bailey who feels like family these days….
Excitement in the air-
Last year, she sat on our porch.  We laughed together and watched my babies running, dripping wet, blissful.  We made hand-crank ice cream, and shared the day.  What a sweet memory.  I missed her this year.

Sweet little guy…sweet day.
