Citrus Mint Tea

Tracy / September 27, 2010

We haven’t always been big tea drinkers. Five or so years back, I took my girls to a tea house and I have been hooked ever since!

I thought I might share a quick recipe, especially good for someone feeling a bit sickly right now (those germs love fall, don’t they?!).

Citrus Mint Tea

(From Celebrate the Seasons)

  • 3 regular-size tea bags
  • 4 to 6 sprigs of fresh mint
  • 4c boiling water
  • 2/3c sugar
  • 2/3c grapefruit juice
  • 1/2c lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • Garnish: lemon slices

Place tea bags and mint in a 2qt. heatproof container. Add the boiling water; cover and steep for 5 minutes. Discard tea bags and mint. Add sugar; stir to dissolve. Stir in grapefruit juice and lemon juice. Serve warm garnished with lemon slices. Makes 1 1/2 quarts.
