Review and Giveaway: Lucado Treasury of Bedtime Prayers

Tracy / February 5, 2015

Paul and I try to have an evening devotion time in our home each day.

It doesn’t always work out, but it does set the tone for a restful evening. My hope would be that each of our littles are left with their focus on a Lord who loves them and tells them to rest easy knowing He watches over us, even while we sleep.

Sometimes, after devotions are done for the evening, one of the older folks in our home slips into their room to read them a story or poem before they are tucked in for the night.  I’m constantly looking for new books to add to the collection.  The reading selections can’t be too long since some of us have a shorter attention span.  🙂

I want them to have beautiful, rich illustrations and I love a book that leaves them asking questions that lead to short discussions as we prepare them for bed.

This month, Tommy Nelson publishing gave me the opportunity to review the Lucado Treasury of Bedtime Prayers: Prayers for bedtime and every time of day!.

It was unexpected fun for a couple of the children to watch as I opened the box and took out the book.  Emma and Jon sat down and read it almost cover-to-cover.  They ADORED this book!

There are lots of sweet scenes from nature- butterflies, turtles, trees, little birds and animals of all kinds.  Jackson has been pointing out all of these little creatures and asking me to, “read more”.

Taken from the back of the book:

“Written for playtime and bedtime, happy times and fearful times, and all times in between, the Lucado Treasury of Bedtime Prayers is a wonderful collection of classic children’s prayers and new prayers by bestselling author Max Lucado and his wife, Denalyn.

These prayers will help your child see that God is there for them, ready to listen, guide, comfort, and love.

Because you can’t stop every scrape, heal every broken heart, or banish every bully, but you can… teach your child to pray.”

We have always tried to teach our children to pray about anything and everything. This entire book is a beautiful conversation with God.

I am excited that I’m being given a chance for one of you to win a copy of this lovely book of your very own!

Please leave your information in the area below.  I’ll be choosing a winner this Monday, (February 9, 2015).
