Sewing Again

(Finally.)

It always takes me a bit of time to start sewing again after a new baby arrives.

Sometimes, necessity kicks in and I have no choice…that is life for me this week.

This is my latest project:

Bloomers and pantaloons for Darby. Pantaloons for Meredith.

THIS is still my absolute favorite pattern. I’ve used it for years.

This was a fun project first, because it is quick and easy. Second, because Meredith stood over my shoulder the entire time. She is always excited to have me sewing something for her!

  1. Great job! Those are beautiful and perfect for active little girls.

I’m just getting back into sewing after almost a month without it–we had company, my sewing machine went to get serviced, I’ve been busy with yard work…

I finished a dress tonight that I started 2 years ago right before we moved here! It only took about an hours work to finish–such a great feeling to have a new summer dress in the closet to wear.

Also today, I refashioned some ill-fitting pants into skirts. A fast and easy project; I have a post about it ready to go up on the blog tomorrow morning.

  2. I’ll have to pop over and look Mary Ann! I’ve tried that but never can get the front to lay flat. :/ I don’t know what I am doing wrong.

    1. In the post, I linked to the tutorial I used which shows how to cut the pointy part of the crotch area seam and I also made sure to sew it to be straight with the rest of the garment. It took me a bit to get it right with the first skirt but was easier with the 2nd one.
