Composting Chickens

Tracy / September 8, 2013

This is a short video on composting with chickens.

We give our chickens all of our food scraps, pulled weeds, some raked leaves and hay. We also throw in DRYER LINT!

They are incredibly efficient at breaking it all down and come late winter and spring when we are ready to begin working on garden beds we have an abundance of rich, dark soil!

    1. Chickens have been the best homesteading investment we’ve made! If you have a place for them, starting out with a few is a great idea.

    1. They do GREAT with dryer lint!!! I couldn’t imagine it working but it breaks down really fast. Let me know how it works, if you decide to try!
