I’m not sure if we’ll have time to post in the morning.
Tomorrow, Matthew turns 11.
It’s difficult to imagine that eleven years have passed since his birth. His arrival marked many changes for our family. His arrival brought joy once again to a family filled with grief following the passing of Paul’s mother.
I will always think of him as a gift- a very special blessing from God.
I’m thankful that we’re celebrating him tomorrow. As with all of our children, it will be a joy!
We’re planning a big camp-out in the backyard for him (at his request). We’ve invited several boys and their fathers along to sleep over.
We have lots planned for our guests and our birthday boy! I hope it will be fun and memorable for him.
Just so we don’t forget, this is Matthew today:
He had a little accident last night, at church of all places. I’m sure it could have been worse- but it still looks pretty bad.
I wonder what goes through the head of a little boy….they seem to find trouble. (This follows a massive case of poison oak that has just healed.)
Today, we have lots of cleaning, and grass-trimming, and activities to plan. I need to bake muffins and a cake. There is lots to do- I hope we can finish before folks arrive tomorrow.
