This past Sunday we hosted our first party in this new house! The rooms were all full of laughter and children ran from place to place. I hope everyone enjoyed their time here as much as we enjoyed them visiting. This gathering was for a sweet friend as she celebrated the pending arrival of her seventh baby. I’m so thankful…

Turkey Update
I did a big “”no-no””. I named the family turkeys. Meet Burt and Ernie: I just couldn’t help it…they are so cute in a really ugly sort of way, you know? They follow me around the yard like favored pets- what will I do when Thanksgiving rolls around?

A few things we’ve done over the last few weeks: A new tetherball set for the kiddos- Courtney votes for the FIRST time (and is now, a sitting, elected official in our county!!)- A new, simple quilt for Meredith’s first birthday- “Chia Paul”…a result of a gardening project I did with the children-

I’m not sure if we’ll have time to post in the morning. Tomorrow, Matthew turns 11. It’s difficult to imagine that eleven years have passed since his birth. His arrival marked many changes for our family. His arrival brought joy once again to a family filled with grief following the passing of Paul’s mother. I will always think of him…
Gardenias
The gardenia in our backyard is in full bloom. I’m not sure I’ve ever smelled anything so sweet!!
