Calling All Moms!

It’s Wednesday…I can’t believe half of the week is gone already! Where does the time go?

This picture is Emma Katherine the day she was born. The hospital staff referred to her as “Baby-Sumo”, I’m sure you can guess why! She has been such a sweet baby. I can hardly believe that she will be 6 months old soon.

While I’m thinking in baby mode, I want to start a new feature to www.LinesFromTheVine.com . Women are such good teachers. I was hoping that some of you might share your experiences, with others.

Our first topic will be for new moms. It seems that from the moment you announce you are pregnant everyone you know has a story to tell or advice to share. Here’s the place to sound off! Maybe we can all learn something from each other!

If you are a mom, or a mom-to-be, please feel free to send in your questions to post to our expert panel of moms!

What were your first thoughts upon finding out you were expecting?

What were your biggest fears?

How did your spouse feel about your news?

What was the most valuable advice you received about being a mom?

What surprised you most about being a mom?

What is the most treasured item that you have kept for your child?

What is the one baby item you would have not been without (we’re not counting diapers!)?

What has your child taught you?

If there is anything else you would like to share, we would like to hear it! Please post your comments to the contact us link at the top or bottom of this post. As I receive responses, I’ll post them on the page.

Prayer Requests:

The Miller Family and their new baby.

An unspoken request for a friend and her family that have a very important Dr. visit this week.

Today, I’m Thankful For:

I heard from my friend, Tanya. She told me that her Dad is still going through a lot following his surgery but he is better.

Having finished my earrings yesterday! It’s always so nice to finish a project.

A sunny sky today….maybe we’ll have a few dry days?!

A good night’s sleep. Emma slept through the night again! Yeah!

For all the new little babies around us! It seems that lots of women are pregnant. New life is always so sweet!

What I’m Learning:

That the older I get the more I am enjoying my life! I used to think that my life would dwindle away as I aged, but I have to admit, I love my age. Every year gets better. I feel like I have a better grasp on who I am, where I want to be and what is important. It’s a nice place to be!

The fastest way to teach a child to ride a bike is to just put them in the yard and turn them loose. We’ve tried training wheels. We’ve tried walking behind them. We’ve tried just about everything but still the most tried and true method is to just let them learn on their own. It’s O.K. to explain things but it’s just something that they will learn faster on their own. Try it and see!

Today’s Scripture Meditation:

Psalm 128:1-4

“Blessed are all who fear the LORD, who walk in his ways. You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours. Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your sons will be like olive shoots around your table. Thus is the man blessed who fears the LORD.”
(NIV)
