Creating HOME- The Fall Wreath

Tracy / September 16, 2010

I love a Martha Stewart wreath I recently came across. When I saw Nester’s version, I knew I had to try this project! I bought twisted paper from Hobby Lobby (you will need 4 for $1 a piece), and floral staples (we needed two packages for this project). We used a wreath we found in the house. Jessica stripped it…

Gentle Spirit

Tracy / September 13, 2010

This is a repost from the site My Own Sense and Sensibility. Many thanks to Mindy for allowing me to share this on my site! This morning, as I was seeking the Lord in my quiet time, He placed before me a quote that so touched the heart of my current struggle. Her gentle mothering reveals to the world God’s…

It has been a long, long week. Paul was away for a full seven days, home for one and gone for another four. His work is quite busy sometimes, but we’re happy to have work. I know there are many out there without jobs right now. Our little homestead is changing with the seasons, I think. We’re preparing to build…

The Recipe Box

Tracy / September 13, 2010

I don’t generally like recipes that call for a cake mix…something about making a homemade recipe with a box mix just seems wrong, LOL. These were really good, and *very* easy! They would be great as a “holiday” cookie. Gooey Butter Cookies (From Keeping Good Company) 1/2c butter 1/4t vanilla 1 egg 1 (8oz) pkg. cream cheese 1 (1 lb.…

Mr. B….

Tracy / September 11, 2010

My little boy– how can you not just smile? When we had dinner a few nights back, I looked over to see Ben having popped the sticks out of both corn dogs. He had chopped his up into small pieces and was using the sticks as chopsticks to eat. Little boys are too much fun!

Punishment? Hmmm…

Tracy / September 10, 2010

So one child was found to have taken a piece of gum from his brother’s drawer without asking. I thought it would be a good idea to make him “pay” for this gum by doing work for his older brother….it didn’t work out quite the way I had anticipated. Folding his brother’s film supplies… Does this look like he’s learning…

It’s Been Said….

Tracy / September 10, 2010

I wasn’t going to post another quote this week, but I really loved this one and thought it might be an encouraging word for one of you ladies! “I think part of our frustration, as first generation Christians, may come from wanting for ourselves (understandably) what we were not given (a Christian heritage). We must rejoice that, in God’s mercy,…
