Book Review: Brave Girls Series

The book shipment for March from Tommy Nelson included two devotional books from the Brave Girls series: Brave Girls: Faithful Friends: A 90-Day Devotional, and Brave Girls: Better Than Perfect: A 90-Day Devotional

This is my first experience with this series. It was fun to look through the books and read the selections for each day. Though I am a grown woman, some of these were an encouragement for me!

Both books are 90 day devotionals for girls ages 7-10 years.

This book addresses negative self talk most women have and the powerful truth of the Lord that tells us how we are valued by our creator!

From the back of Better Than Perfect:
“Brave Girls, Honor and Faith know that your life is like a puzzle. Though it may look like it’s in messy puzzle pieces, God sees the bigger picture, and He rearranges all the pieces to make your life a beautiful work of art.”

This book addresses negative self talk most women have and the powerful truth of the Lord that tells us how we are valued by our creator!

It is full (90 devotions!) of stories about broken people and the Lord’s love for them all.

It also contains craft projects and puzzles that correlate with the Bible study. That makes it fun for younger girls!

From the back of Faithful Friends:
“The Brave Girls- Hope, Glory, Faith, Gracie and Honor- know a thing or two about making and keeping friends. Together they’ve experienced the ups and downs of friendship, and they want to share their stories and secrets with you.”

Some specific topics include: friendship conversation starters, praying for Godly friends, setting up a prayer box, handling phone chats, basic table manners, overcoming feelings of loneliness, and learning to look to the needs of others before your own.

It offers real life suggestions for building faith.

As I was looking through these books, I thought it would be a great bonding experience for Jessica and Emma (or probably any small group of girls). I think each devotion will only take about 5 minutes of Jessa’s time. I look forward to seeing her creativity as she reads and works through these books with Emma!

*I received a copy of these books from the publisher in exchange for a review. I was not required to post a positive review.
