Though we’ve had these flowers bloom in the backyard in various places, I’ve never had one bloom in my front yard.

This year, this little guy bloomed- right outside of my Mama’s bedroom window! It is beautiful!! Courtney went out and took these photos last week.

This morning, I decided to read up on it HERE.

These flowers are beginning to grow more in the US. Texas and North Carolina were mentioned specifically, but they said they are common to other southern states, as well.

Here’s where things get interesting-

as it turns out, according to Japanese/Chinese folklore, these flowers often associated with death.

It is said that these bloom along the places where you see someone you many never see again. They are often planted along cemeteries and on graves and are used in tribute to the dead.

I KNOW I will see my mama again.

You have to admit, it is interesting!
