Septic Tank

Ahhh….you all know I love you!! We can share everything, right? (Well, most things! *smile*)

So many of our projects were placed on hold for the last several months. I just needed to focus my attention on my mama. That doesn’t mean those things weren’t important, or necessary. They just had to wait a bit.

Well, this last week, the little septic issues we’ve been having became incredibly worse! It was obvious something had to be done.

We phoned the septic man we’ve known in the area. He came to inspect our system here at our new home.

I knew we were in trouble when he came to the door and asked for Paul. Apparently, the septic tank here was homemade, built under a weight bearing wall and (wait for it…..wait for it……)

HAD NO FIELD LINES.

That’s right folks.

So, here is the photo journal from our week, (and I know you all love sharing this nasty journey with us):

I feel the need to count my blessings today, so here we go:

I’m thankful (so thankful!) we knew a reputable septic tank guy in our area!

I’m thankful for TWO WHOLE DAYS of educational entertainment for the entire family, (including the cat!).

I’m so very thankful for the additional work Paul has had this year…we’ve had a few unexpected expenses.

I’m thankful to not smell sewage when I open my windows, or walk into my bathroom.

I’m thankful we didn’t have bigger problems now knowing what was lurking under our back yard.

I’m thankful 2 of my fig trees and my Fuji apple survived (though I was so excited about those pecans…. *sigh*).

I’m thankful for the opportunity to plant really great grass.

I’m thankful when I had the bright idea to have Matt and Jess go sprinkle grass seed out there, we were able to eventually get them out of the mud (I was beginning to wonder….). Not my brightest moment.

One big project down, one more to go….I think we’re all tired of having Rubbermaid boxes in my dining room when it rains. Should be fun!
