Tryin’ a New “Do”….

Tracy / September 8, 2006

This morning has been very busy….we enjoyed a short visit from the Blackwell family and then with my Mom, who decided to take Jacob for a “spend the night” adventure at her home.

He was so excited to get to spend this special time with his Grandmother….I remember feeling the same excitement when I got to visit with my Grandmother for the weekend.

Last night, I was honored to be asked to speak on scheduling at my friend Angie’s home, to her homeschool support group. What an awesome group of ladies these are, and as always, the fellowship is second to none! If you are reading this today, thank you so much for inviting me, I enjoyed it very much!

We’re back now, to begin our daily routine…laundry, dishes, school will fill our day. I am going to try and fit in some scrapbooking, (we’re on day 4 in “7 days to a finished scrapbook” now!) and perhaps a little web work.

The pictures today are of Courtney and Jessica’s hair styles…we’re experimenting with new ideas (we have actually fixed Jessica’s this way before). I have been really feeling like I need to take more time in making myself look as feminine as possible…this of course, spills over to the girls…and who doesn’t like taking a little more time brushing out their daughter’s hair and fixing it “just so”. What fun!

Prayer Requests

Our dear friend’s son, Zach, will be having surgery on Monday. Please pray for peace for this family and that the recovery will be quick.

My Grandmother…I don’t think that things are going quite as well as I originally thought.

My Mom is not feeling well.

Deborah has not been feeling well.

Today I’m Thankful For

A beautiful day!

Visiting with friends first thing in the morning!

An enjoyable time of fellowship last evening.

Jacob getting to spend special time with his Grandmother today.

My dear husband….I am reminded daily of how blessed I am to have this sweet man in my life.

Tracy’s Task

Today, I’m going to actually take some time to relax. Just relax. I do have chores and things that need to be done, but I’m going to squeeze some time in for relaxation.

I’m also going to make it a point (wait, I think I’m hearing a heavenly chorus….or wait a minute, that’s just my children shouting AMEN!) to remove the long over due sewing baskets from my living room as part of this week’s holiday grand plan.

What I’m Learning

As mentioned before, we are trying out new hair-do’s in my home…last night, I worked on pin curls in my hair…today, Courtney has the pin curls and I have a french twist with curls, even with my short hair! I love taking extra time with my hair, it makes me feel so “girly”! I think my husband appreciated the extra effort too!

O.K. This isn’t Courtney’s hair at all, but who could resist taking a picture of a girl with her violin!

Emma is upset because she doesn’t have hair to fix. Poor baby….it won’t be long. 🙂

Today’s Scripture Meditation

My Mom mentioned this Scripture for Zach this morning…..I’m not sure if she has ever been around him more than once or twice so I was so touched that she would reach out to him and pray these things for him. I thought it was so sweet for her to think of him.

Ps 91:1-16
“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you make the Most High your dwelling– even the LORD, who is my refuge– then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
(NIV)

Praying for a relaxing and wonderful weekend for you all,
