Happy Saturday morning! I’m up earlier this morning than usual on a Saturday. We have so many things we still need to finish before Matthew’s birthday tomorrow! I figured that I should get a head start.
We learned something pretty great yesterday from the Shepherd’s blog…visit:

It’s Vision Forum’s “Everyday News Network“. They already have some wonderful little news features up and running. My children sat in the office last evening and watched a couple of them.
We were thrilled that our just ordered, 2 plum trees and 6 blackberry bushes, arrived yesterday. They look so nice in the ground ouside….now I’m counting days until they produce…YUM!!
One additional note, please pray for Tanya’s family. Her uncle, injured in an accident I had mentioned in an earlier post, passed yesterday. Please pray for peace for this family and wisdom in making the necessary decisions that will need to be made in the next couple of days.
For Your Family
This is an easy segment for me today. How do you celebrate your children’s birthdays? I would love to hear ideas!
My friend Christy, has a birthday album that she is working on for her boys, we have a birthday tablecloth, (pictured today…this is two yards of fabric with hemmed edges and ribbon sewn all the way around) and my children get measured and marked on a special wall (well, O.K….the first wall ran out of space a couple of years back, so now we actually have two hall walls!) and Angie’s family visits BAB and Johnny Rockets.
Birthdays are one of the times to celebrate growth and milestones in a child’s life. Below are some web links that offer some pretty good ideas to making your child’s birthday unique and special.

For us, keeping birthdays simple and yet having “traditional” things that we do for each celebration has led to our children looking forward to all of the birthdays in our home. We celebrate as a family!!
For Your Body
Do you exercise? I’m the world’s worst at sticking to an exercise plan. I’m not really sure why I have such a hard time with this right now.
Normal exercise is one of the best things that you can do for your body. I have a really hard time fitting this in right now…I hope that it is not always this way. I feel so much better when I have taken the time out to exercise. If you are struggling with this like I am, if nothing else, at least make yourself become more active. For me, this has been gardening. I can tell that I have so much more energy because I’ve been working so much in the yard. If anyone has any ideas on sneaking in exercise, would you like to share them???
For Your Spirit
Who Am I?
Ps 121:1-2
“I lift up my eyes to the hills– where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.”
(NIV)
John 1:12-13
“Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God–children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.”
(NIV)
Eph 1:3-12
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will– to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment– to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ. In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.”
(NIV)
Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
