Birthday Blessings

Thank you for the numerous birthday greetings this week! You all helped make my week extra-special. I had the best birthday– Here are some highlights… Gifts and cards from the children…all planned with such care! …and amongst others, a really beautiful teapot cozy and coasters: these were handmade by my sweet Mom. It was definitely a birthday to remember!!

Meredith’s Birthday

A whole first year already…. Meredith’s first baby prints on the birthday tablecloth– She loved feeling the paint between her toes! My Mom made her the sweetest bear: She loves it and has been taking it pretty much everywhere since! Mom also crocheted a doll…with yellow hair. She made Meredith a matching hat and wig!! We laughed and laughed!! The…

Good Monday morning! It is such a bright and beautiful day. I hope that you all had a great weekend. We worked around the house…we were thankful to enjoy some much needed time with Paul. He also made great use of his time by repairing my washer and working on the dryer (let’s just say, in a family of 10…to…

August, Already?

August already? Does anyone else ever seem to be taken off guard by the passing of time? Where do the days go? I wake up, and before I can blink the day is over. It’s incredible, and humbling, to know that I only have so many days and they pass so quickly. I was so thankful we finished yesterday’s projects…

Wreath

This is the finished honey suckle wreath that I made a while back. The only thing that I would have changed would have been to wind it tighter…it tends to expand as it dries.

Mom’s Soap Sack

This is the soap sack that I made for my Mom for Mother’s Day. I thought this was one of the most nifty ideas…it’s a drawstring bag perfect for little slivers of soap. You can actually lather through it and the drawstring is long enough to hang over the shower head! My Mom loved it! I’m grateful to Darlene who…

Beware of Strangers!

This is the wreath from a couple of days back. It will take some time to dry and I know now about how much honeysuckle I will need. This wreath actually took a laundry basket full. I’m going to play with it a little more and I’ll let you know how things are going. *I’ve been asked, btw, if they…

Austin Phillip Arrives

This picture was taken during the recent storms here in Alabama by my daughter, Courtney. Always amazed by the night sky, Paul called her out to watch the lightning dancing in the distance. She couldn’t resist the opportunity to snap a quick picture while she had the chance. We have a new arrival to announce! Austin Phillip Lambert, son of…

Sprouts!

Sunflowers! I can’t believe that they have sprouted so quickly but here they are! They look like they are going to be healthy little plants. I can’t wait until they are big enough to transfer out of our little temporary home for them, into the yard! Our weekend was good. I worked away on Jessica’s dresses and finally finished the…
