Recipe- Poppy Seed Chicken

Tracy / February 7, 2011

This is a favorite in our home. The recipe came from a church cookbook we have.

This church was rather large, and this recipe was one of the most requested from the ladies. We normally serve it with rice or noodles…or if you prefer to make it into a one dish casserole, you can just add noodles to the chicken.

Poppy Seed Chicken

  • 2-3c chicken breast, cooked and chopped
  • 2 cans cream of chicken soup
  • 1 (8oz) container of sour cream
  • 2t poppy seeds
  • 1 roll Ritz crackers, crushed
  • 1/2c melted butter

Boil chicken and chop into pieces. Mix soup, sour cream and poppy seeds together. Place chicken in the bottom of a greased casserole dish. Place soup mixture on top of the chicken. After crushing crackers, mix with melted butter and place on top of soup mixture and chicken. Bake at 350^ for 30-45 minutes or until bubbly.
