We have been so blessed! A friend offered a basket of pears from her tree. We’ve been busy making jelly and preserves: Yummy! I love pear preserves, especially on Joshua’s fresh biscuits.

Turkey Update
I did a big “”no-no””. I named the family turkeys. Meet Burt and Ernie: I just couldn’t help it…they are so cute in a really ugly sort of way, you know? They follow me around the yard like favored pets- what will I do when Thanksgiving rolls around?

I’m not sure if we’ll have time to post in the morning. Tomorrow, Matthew turns 11. It’s difficult to imagine that eleven years have passed since his birth. His arrival marked many changes for our family. His arrival brought joy once again to a family filled with grief following the passing of Paul’s mother. I will always think of him…

The gardenia in our backyard is in full bloom. I’m not sure I’ve ever smelled anything so sweet!!

Matt will be turning 11 this week. Courtney and I have been working on decorations for the backyard. I found these at the local dollar store: We decided to make them multi-colored for the birthday camp-out this weekend. I added some food coloring to water and carefully dipped each one being careful of the battery compartment:

Daisies are now blooming in the front yard! Jessica came in with them tucked into the back of her braid one day. I think it may have been one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen!
