o-flights

Saturday was o-flight day for Jacob.

He went with one of his close friends. They always have a good time (though he did get a little sick this time).

This flight was a parabolic flight and they enjoyed feeling zero gravity for a short time (mama *did not enjoy* knowing they were experiencing zero gravity).

He has enjoyed Civil Air Patrol this year. He’s made some great friends and has tried something new.

This particular o-flight was the best yet (at least for me)!

They taught him to check the fuel, propeller, wings, etc. The pilot took these young men through a check list that basically included everything on the plane.

He told us about the tornado that hit a local airport a while back and grabbed the planes right off the runway where they were tied down.

He explained how much these planes were worth as well as the ones that were taken by the tornado and the salvage process as
they gathered the undamaged items (not much!), from those planes.

It was all pretty great! I walked away having learned more than I knew before. The boys were all smiles when they landed, (that was before I drug them both off to the grocery store, lol!).
