Tracy / September 13, 2010

It has been a long, long week.

Paul was away for a full seven days, home for one and gone for another four.

His work is quite busy sometimes, but we’re happy to have work. I know there are many out there without jobs right now.

Our little homestead is changing with the seasons, I think.

We’re preparing to build larger chicken quarters. This morning, Jacob and I were out staking off the land where they will be located.

Our newest birds are doing pretty well! Jacob loves tending them, and I love to watch him. His fascination with animals is fascinating to me!

Next week, we’ll be building and moving the birds into their new home. They will be close enough to our home to see from the family room.

Courtney and Joshua are working on a new project. I’m not sharing details just yet, but the whole house is excited. Maybe, it will be finished in the next day, or maybe two. 🙂

The leaves continue to begin making their way off the trees and onto the ground. It’s been so warm, it still feels like summer. It’s hard to believe that cooler days are just on the horizon.

I’m looking forward to it, and yet, I do love to stand in the warm sun.
