Sunflowers, Day 2

I wasn’t sure if yesterday’s picture did these flowers justice, so I decided to post a different angle today!

This morning, when I went outside on the porch to see Paul off, we realized that we were beginning to see some yellow on the inside of the flowers!! (I think it’s funny that he is even enjoying watching these big things grow!) Perhaps it won’t be long until they open to reveal their large blooms!

All said and done, even with water restrictions, the plants are coming along. We’ve been watching to realize the cherry tomato bush we have, now has several babies on it and the plum trees, that I just purchased and planted a few weeks back, are doing really great. They are covered in green leaves. I know it will be awhile but the thoughts of fresh plums is very yummy!!

I’m still reading the Managers of Their Chores book. I always learn so much by reading The Maxwell’s books. This one proves to be just the same. I find myself going back to re-read sections that I want to make sure I understand. Hopefully, today, I should get to the actual chore scheduling part!! : )

Today’s Prayer Requests

Paul’s meeting tonight.

I am having a problem with the Postal Service not delivering my parcels. They have actually returned the last 4 or 5 to their senders saying that they had a failed delivery attempt at my home! I used my tracking numbers to figure out that I’m still supposed to have one sitting at the Maylene post office (since June 19th). Please pray that I can work this out and that I will be refunded the re-stocking fees that I am being charged. (Of course, as well as figuring out why I’m not getting my mail!)

The Blackwell family has some hurdles this week to their schedule…please pray that the week will go smoothly for them and that they will get plenty of rest.

Today, I’m Thankful For

Tanya’s husband was recalled for his job! (I forgot to post this blessing a couple of weeks back!)….(BTW, Tanya, if you read this, I didn’t receive the pictures you tried to email me yesterday!!)

A good night’s sleep! I went to bed early and rested very well last night…that’s a huge blessing!

My son, Joshua. Yesterday found me looking at him and realizing that he is growing quickly into a man. I’m so thankful for him. He is always willing to do anything I request of him and he will ask if he can do something if he sees it needs to be done. I am so blessed!

My home’s air conditioning! It’s been so hot here this week! I’m glad to have this modern convenience!

The laughter in my home. We are a family that probably finds humor in just about anything. This is usually a good thing.

Tracy’s Task

We’re still working on our yard. Paul cut down a tree in the back….we’re going to try and get it pulled out to the woods today.

We are also working on our homemaking journals. Today, I’m going to post a detailed list of bathroom cleaning duties to our yahoo groups site.

What I’m Learning

I am getting better about the dinner preparation time. Last night, I managed to have dinner done by 5 and we were well done with clean up by bedtime. We’re going to go for night number 2 today. I’m making little changes along the way in hopes that we can become more and more efficient! (One of the biggest changes is to make much more simple meals.)

Today’s Scripture Meditation

Prov 4:10-18

“Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many. I guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble. Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life. Do not set foot on the path of the wicked or walk in the way of evil men. Avoid it, do not travel on it; turn from it and go on your way. For they cannot sleep till they do evil; they are robbed of slumber till they make someone fall. They eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence. The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.”
