Mary Jane’s Farm

I always look forward to this time of the morning. My home is generally quiet and I get a chance to just sit and ponder my day and where it will lead me.

As a child, I would have never seen the twists and turns that have brought me to this place in my life. If I had been in control, I would have never traveled this path. I gasp to think of all that I would have missed. As hard as it has been, as hard as it is, I would not change a thing. I feel joy when I look into my husband’s eyes and an unspeakable love to see 8 precious blessings that fill my days. God is so good. He has blessed me beyond measure.

Today’s picture is of recently acquired new treasure!! I’m beginning to LOVE Mary Jane’s farm! If you haven’t checked this one out (Angie, I mean you especially!!!), you should take the time to look this one over!

I have to say that these are some of the most beautifully photographed, beautifully written books and magazines that I have ever seen… but there’s more….subtitled “Simple Solutions For Everyday Organic”, this first magazine I received has articles on all types of gardening, crafting, sewing, carpentry, (I even found the plans for an indoor laundry line…anyone out there who would like to volunteer to create this for the those of us who are not so wood savvy??) home decorating, entertaining and everything organic. All this and the best part is THERE ARE NO ADS! This magazine is specially geared towards farm girls and those who want to be. I loved this page on the backside of the cover taken from “She Planted a Tree in ’29“:

Home isn’t just a place or a location.
It’s a feeling, a memory, a sound, sometimes a smell.

It can be someone you know,
and the memory of their laugh.

It can be that feeling rising in your throat
when you hug someone you haven’t seen in a while.

Or that sense of belonging you get
when you make a new acquaintance you didn’t know you missed.

Or that farmstead you long for.

When you’re homesick for the farm girl life you’ve never led,
hang laundry outside and the scent will take you there.

Crochet at the end of the day,
and simple becomes your sanctuary.

Wanting to go home can be a sensory journey
as good as being there.

Prayer Requests

Please continue to pray for Tanya and her family. I’m sure that they are in the middle of arrangements for her uncle….please pray for peace over this family.

We have officially turned our business plan over to a business mentor to critique before it goes on to potential investors. Please pray this will be a speedy process.

My Grandmother may still have to have surgery to repair her broken leg. She is showing progress but we’re still waiting to see if any further action will be necessary.

We’re working on chore packs (From MOTC by The Maxwells…for more information, visit www.Titus2.com.).

Today, I’m Thankful For

The Rain! The Rain! The Rain!!

Time spent playing in the rain with my children yesterday! I have such fond memories of running through summer showers as a child! It was fun to share this with my children.

The opportunity to get to have breakfast out with a friend in the morning (I’m looking forward to it Christy!!).

My friends! Someone told me that I have a lot of good friends…this is something that I’m constantly grateful for! I can’t remember a time when I felt so loved and so blessed by those God has placed around me.

My baby girl has learned to stand on her own. Though I’m not yet ready to let go…I’m amazed by her milestones and so grateful that God has allowed me to be home to witness these all important “firsts” in her life.

Tracy’s Tasks

Today, I’m taking time to trace my children’s hands just onto some paper in my homemaking journal and allow them to write something about themselves (even if it’s just a scribble). I’m going to date it and make a note about them….I love to see little hand prints from previous years! Just to know that their little hands once graced the paper is special to me.

What I’m Learning

I can’t type this without giggling. I’m learning that even after all these years, I’m still keeping hubby guessing as to what he’ll learn about me next.

Last week we were in Walmart purchasing a bicycle for Matthew when I saw THE MOST wonderful bike for grown-ups….well, it’s more of a tricycle. I could not help but sit down and take it for a spin around the toy department. Needless to say, Paul’s jaw dropped.

In my own defense, it has a basket on back where a toddler or two could ride and with a baby seat added on front, we could all go for a spin!! Someone print this blog and send it to Santa….I want this for Christmas!! 😉

Today’s Scripture Meditation

Prov 4:20-27
“My son, pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to a man’s whole body. Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. Put away perversity from your mouth; keep corrupt talk far from your lips. Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you. Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm. Do not swerve to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.”
(NIV)
